North York

North York has its own skyline. The towers along Yonge Street between Sheppard and Finch form a dense urban corridor that feels entirely distinct from suburban York Region twenty minutes north. Mel Lastman Square at the North York Civic Centre anchors the city centre that was built to compete with downtown Toronto and largely succeeded for its own purposes. The Yonge-Sheppard subway interchange serves two lines. Willowdale, the neighbourhood within North York that runs along Yonge north of Sheppard, is one of the most connected transit pockets in the entire city. Earl Bales Park on the Don River Valley is 145 acres of ravine and ski hills.

North York is where buyers who cannot afford Midtown and are not willing to leave Toronto end up. The school system, particularly in the Sheppard-Leslie corridor, draws immigrant families from across East Asia at volumes that keep demand consistently elevated.
